Play is the basic mode of human beings. Play not only promotes physical and mental development, but also strengthens social skills, creativity and problem-solving skills. When we play, we experience joy, discover new things that help us to better understand the world around us and grow together through positive experiences.

This enthusiasm and ease of play, as well as the fascination with solving puzzles and overcoming challenges, have also shaped escape games, which have become increasingly popular with young and old in recent years.

We have taken these proven principles and the infectious feeling of the game and reinterpreted them for the corporate context. The result? Game Changer - a business escape game.

Game Changer – a business escape game by denkwerk

The escape game we developed for companies offers real added value - for employees and brands alike:

  1. Entertaining knowledge transfer: Game Changer helps to convey complex and seemingly dry information in an entertaining way and thus helps to ensure lasting internalization. The playful approach makes even complicated content tangible and easy to understand.

  2. Promoting openness and a willingness to change: play encourages a playful approach to new things and reduces the fear of change. It creates an environment in which change is perceived as a positive challenge and not as a threatening situation.

  3. Collaborative solution finding: Game Changer facilitates collaborative solution finding by taking teams on a journey to overcome challenges together. By playing together, teams learn to work together more effectively and develop creative solutions.

  4. Unforgettable experiences: It creates unforgettable shared (successful) experiences. These positive experiences strengthen team spirit and promote a culture of togetherness and mutual support.

“The brand sessions were great: the quiz allowed us to interact with lots of colleagues thanks to the well-designed and fun puzzles. At the same time, it was a fun way to get a better idea of the diversity of Sparkasse KölnBonn's sponsorships.”

Flexible and individual - customized solutions for every requirement

In addition to positioning the app as a game infrastructure and creating the game components, the fundamental strategic concept is the essential component of the “Game Changer”. Together with the customer, we identify the relevant topics and exciting content and transform them into a captivating puzzle experience.

The “Game Changer” concept has a modular structure and offers maximum flexibility to find the right solution for every group size and setting. The modularity of the “Game Changer” concept allows the game to be individually adapted to the topics, goals and framework conditions of the respective organization. Both small teams and large groups can benefit from this flexible approach.

In digital formats, participants can work together regardless of location, while analog games offer a tangible and collaborative experience. Whether analog, digital or hybrid: the focus is always on fun and games. Thanks to the linear game structure, which consists of 4-12 puzzles and develops along an exciting framework story, players can experience the game independently with the help of a game app. This app guides them step by step so that external help and explanations are not necessary. For large events, however, we recommend the use of facilitators who encourage and support the exchange and puzzling in the game groups.

We have already successfully implemented a hybrid approach with 3,500 employees of Sparkasse KölnBonn at a major brand event for a brand relaunch. 350 teams of 10 participants each were playfully familiarized with the new brand identity in order to develop creative ways to implement it.

The topics that the game facilitates can be very diverse. The interactive and entertaining elements of the game not only facilitate learning, but also create a positive attitude towards change, which leads to a more sustainable and successful implementation of the respective topics in the long term.

Application Scenarios:

  • Brand relaunch: teams are playfully familiarized with the new brand identity and develop creative ways to implement it.

  • Digitalization of internal processes: Employees learn about complex digital concepts in an interactive way, which increases acceptance and application.

  • Fusion of teams and companies: The game acts as a unifying element, strengthens team spirit and promotes collaboration.

  • Customer focus and service optimization: Employees focus intensively on the needs of customers and develop innovative solutions.

  • Sustainability initiatives: The game increases awareness and commitment to environmentally friendly practices in a fun way.

  • Optimization of internal communication: Exchange is encouraged, misunderstandings are reduced and an open, cooperative culture is established.

“When we play, we take obstacles with wonderful ease and positivity. People and solutions benefit from this.”
